Our “pride and joy” comes from our new, state-of-art cleaning facility. Located within the confines of Port Bienville Industrial Park, this $1.3 million facility is designed to effectively and efficiently clean covered hoppers that last contained inert material, i.e., plastic resin and pellets.
The facility boasts a vacuum system rated at 6000 lbs per hour for heel removal, and filtered, clean water at 2500 psi for removal of dust and contaminates. Various and flexible levels of service can be provided, and always includes a thorough inspection of cars for future service. This facility also provides for the cleaning of transfer trucks that carry the same or similar products as rail. Steam and stainless steel brushes, as well as the same water and pressure, help provide a clean and non-contaminated trailer. All waste product and water is recovered then treated to be environmentally safe for disposal. Typical turn-around time for the washing process is less than 48 hours from the time of receipt of rail cars to delivery to the customer or to the CSXT. Wash time on tractor-trailers rarely exceeds one hour.
